outlines clearly the power and authority of the early church. You may care to read Acts 2:42. Right there you see 4 areas that were important to these first believers and should also be important to us. The Word of God, Fellowship, Communion and Prayer. The scripture uses the word "devoted" In other words they gave themselves over to these three disciplines. The world has yet to see the power and authority that would be excersied by a group of believers who would do the same.
Community transformation....
is high on our list of priorities.We believe that Gods heart for Taumarunui is such that He desires change for the good. Change, transformation in society is part of the churches responsibility.
How does this happen? It starts with unity within individual churches, that flows out to all churches.
Unity is God given (Romans 15:5)
Unity also needs to be protected by those receiving it (Eph4:3) Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
We also read in scripture that where there is unity, God commands a blessing (Ps133:3)
Transformation of a community also takes leadership that is committed long term to the task. It wont happen over night. A comittment to prayer and intercession over the long haul is required.Its costly. But then the true Christian life is.
