- Several offices right in the middle of the commercial district were given for 24/7 prayer. While we dont hit 24 hours a day every week, it averages around 18 hours each day. The neat thing is....once you start, you want more.(Of HIM). The Moravians were the first to start this type of prayer, in the 14th century. They went for 100years without a break!
The 24/7 prayerhouse is much appreciated by all who use it

Its bringing change to the community as well. Our crime rate continues to decrease. The community continue's to prosper. But our prayer is not limited to the local scene.

These are a few who met at the prayer house to pray together!.....

Usually you sign up for an hour and pray in your own way during that hour. But this was different as you can imagine.
People sign up....

For an hour or more as many days of the week that they are able. The early hours of the morning are not that easy to fill, for obvious reasons. (I mean who likes getting up at 1 or 2 am to pray) But those hours are very significant prayer wise. People who make the effort are usually well rewarded.
Heres our Youth Pastor signing up....
Over the last few years....
there has been considerable change for the good in Taumarunui. We believe the Church (all true Christian Churches) are the spiritual authority in the community. It is the Churches God given responsibility to pray. To seek God for the answer to any given situation. Then pray, declare, speakout, the answer. As an example, one particular street had a real heaviness about it. It was renown for violence and family conflict. Our prayer teams started.Praying both from the Church and on location. In conjunction with this we held a number of fun events in the area. Music, games for the kids and free food. Over time there has been a considerable change in the street. Coincidence. Maybe. But more likely Gods hand. Do we believe prayer works. Certainly.
Testimonies from the prayer house....
Prayer is an important part....

of our church life. We encourage everyone to be involved in prayer, at home and at church.
Prayer starts for the week on Sunday morning at 9.15 before the main service. We usually get 15 to 20 people at this meeting
Friday lunchtime is the next corporate prayer meeting. 12.15 to 12.45
Saturday night at Te peka is an important time too. Te Peka overlooks Taumarunui and is an awesome vantage point to pray from. This photo is of Te Peka lookout.
The Global 24/7 prayer organisation ran an article on our local 24/7 prayer venture.....
